Southampton show

It was awesome! I managed to get front row after queueing for 9 hours and pegging it like I've never ran before once the doors opened!

It was so different to London. in regards to the queue's. I spent most of the time witrh Laurie who is one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet, as well as the other canadians, someone from NY and a few other Darren fans. There was no pushing and shoving, everything was very civilised and it made the day so much better than London as the 9 hours flew by due to the fantastic company we were in.

Soundcheck was short & sweet and we could hardly see anything form the balcony and the other fans were very quiet in it apart from me who got a fit of the giggles when everything went silent as Caz decided to text me just as the whole guildhall fell into deathly silence and I have Darren doing the moan" as my message alert tone!

The show was great, Darren's voice was a bit dodgy and he seemed to be struggling a bit towards the end, and he didn't finish with Feel like he has done in the other shows but went right after he sung Affa, but he did give it his all and put out a great performance. I did have a couple of "fuckwit* ( to quote Terry) monents, when one person behind us moaned in a loud voice that we were taller than her so should be behind her and after she said this a few times was barged back even further by my fat ass as I decided to stick it right out coz she was pissing me right off.. and believe me I have alot of ass to stick out!!

All in all though it was a fab day from start to finish, we dossed about outside for a bit afterwards as I had time to kill due to having another 2 hours before my boat home and finally got in about 2am.

I won't bother posting any concert piccies as they are totally crap!

The show was fab and the people were extremely nice (especially Laurie who is just the sweetest person!).
I have never ever been to a concert where basically everyone was nice to each other and there was no shoving or pushing.
It was a great show and being able to breathe in 3rd row made it all the more enjoyable.

Such a shame that after singing for so long during this tour with what many have said perfect pitch that he should go downhill health wise just inches from the line so to speak.

My friend said to me that Darren has the consitution of an orchid. I'm starting to think they might be right.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons behind the "short" tours - to preserve and protect. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Seriously though, I hope he's going to be alright for tonight's gig in Ipswich. I understand that hugging and kissing isn't allowed at the M&G's but he still seems to do it to those people that he hauls on stage though [img]wink.gif[/img]

Yes he is a sickly boy.. bit like me I use to be sick with the flu practically dying and sore throats for all year long. Then I did a magic thing.. I had that flu injection just before last winter. I watched family and friends go down like dead sack of shit and i knew I would of been worse and yet *touch wood* I have been sick free this year.. oh I cant tell you how great that is.

I just ask one thing.. they dont go saying oh Uncle Darren cant hug and kiss.. Uncle my arse.. Im a year older than him..

We were told that Darren wouldnt be hugging at the meet and greets, but Claire, Alyssa and I all got hugs, in addition to his arm round our shoulders for the piccies. Don't think I'll ever forget that day! He was so gracious and kind, seeing us even though he was ill and couldnt talk. He's very good at sign language!! It was the perfect end to a perfect two weeks (with the exception of a few idiot security guards at Southampton and Ipswich, which I am trying to be calm about and forget [img]tongue.gif[/img] [img]smile.gif[/img] )
